Vaporesso launches the Armour Max, a solid and conquering kit! If you're looking for big clouds of vapor with unbeatable autonomy, the Armour Max is the ally you've been waiting for!

The kit is impressive with its dual-batteries box and Itank 2 clearomizer. The overall look is modern, even a little 'geeky', but still sober. The box is designed to withstand shocks thanks to its TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) coating. It is nonetheless very comfortable to hold.

Although it has been designed to withstand shocks, it is not waterproof: the charging socket is not protected against dust and water.

Dual battery compartment for 18650 or 21700 batteries

The box mod can hold several types of battery: 18650, 20700 or 21700, which is relatively rare for this type of box. With two 21700 batteries, autonomy is greatly increased, even at high power.

Button for accessing the batteries

Power is increased to a maximum of 220 W. A USB-C socket is available for emergency charging. The battery compartment is opened using a button on the back of the box. It's a little hard to open when the batteries are in place, but this prevents the hatch from opening accidentally.

0.96" OLED colour screen

On the front panel there are several elements: a large power switch, two adjustment buttons and a colour OLED screen.

The ignition switch has two functions: turning on the box and vaping. When you move it from top to bottom, the kit locks to prevent accidental triggering in your pocket.

The 0.96" colour OLED screen lets you choose between different operating modes:

• F(t) mode: automatically adjusts the heating speed of the coil for better flavour production.
• Pulse mode: increases power throughout the vape for high vapor production.
• Eco mode: classic variable wattage but consumes less battery power than F(t) or Pulse mode.
• TC-Ni/SS/Ti mode: temperature control mode.

You can also activate the "Smart" mode in the settings. For F(t), Pulse and Eco modes, the power will be automatically adjusted according to the coil. Unlike most other box mods on the market, the smart mode applies to all Watt operating modes.

Vaporesso Armour Max box mod and Itank 2 clearomizer

The Armour Max box mod is fitted with the Vaporesso Itank 2 clearomizer surrounded by a TPU vape band (also made of TPU) designed to protect the tank glass from shocks.

While it retains some of the features that made the Itank famous, this new version is more modern and more sophisticated, much to the delight of lovers of this model.

The capacity remains unchanged: the bulb tank is impressive at 8ml and can be adjusted to 5ml with the straight tank glass supplied in the kit.

Top cap with rotary opening

What has changed, however, is the system for opening the top cap. Instead of a sliding system, a button is now used to open the tank. Clearly more practical in use.

At the bottom of the clearomizer is the airflow adjustment ring. Unlike the previous version, the 3 holes have been replaced by two wide slots, which facilitate airflow to a greater extent. The vapor is powerful and very airy in direct draw.

Vaporesso GTI coil

The Itank 2 clearomizer works with GTi coils, featuring mesh technology. They have large openings that optimise liquid absorption while producing a generous vapor. Please note that this coil model requires liquids with at least 70% VG in their composition.

The kit comes with 2 Vaporesso GTi coils:

• Vaporesso GTi 0.20 ohm coil with an operating range of between 60 and 75 W for direct inhalation vaping.
• Vaporesso GTi 0.40 ohm coil with an operating range of between 50 and 60 W for direct inhalation vaping.

Calumette's review: The Vaporesso Armour Max kit is truly imposing but perfect for those looking for a powerful vape. The ability to fit 21700 batteries is a real plus for autonomy compared with the 18650.

Use

- Charging your box mod:
Plug the USB cable into the port on your Vaporesso box (USB-C socket), after inserting two 18650, 20700 or 21700 batteries in the recommended direction. While your box is charging, you can continue to vape. The box has a charge indicator.

- Using:
To access the menu, press the power switch 3 times for quick menu navigation. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to navigate. Press the switch to enter the various options and confirm your choices. Navigation instructions appear directly on the box's screen.

The lock/unlock system is activated by holding down the "+" and "-" buttons for a few seconds.

- Switching on and off:
Press the "power" button 5 times to switch your box on and off.

- Filling your clearomizer:
Press the top cap button to open the clearomizer. Pour your liquid into the slot. Close.

- Changing the coil :
Turn your clearomizer upside down. Unscrew the base of the tank and the coil. Remove the coil and fit a new one, taking care to position it in the grooves. Remember to change your coils every 4 to 5 refills.

- Adjusting the airflow :
Turn the airflow ring to adjust the airflow to your liking. The ring allows you to block the holes through which the air enters the clearomizer to a greater or lesser extent. The more the holes are open, the more the vapor. In short, for a tight draw, leave the air holes almost closed and for a more airy draw, leave the air holes wide open.
